Amaya Salazar. She is a painter and sculptor. She is born in 1951 in Santo Domingo, where she begins the studies that she continues later in Spain and in the United States. She holds her first national individual exhibit in 1981, and then abroad, in 1987, in Spain. The manner in which she produces light and color makes the classification of her paintings difficult.  In them, the forms appear to be protected by the veil of a transfiguration. The sweetness of her thin strokes, her undrawn faces, fills them with an ethereal atmosphere that feeds light unto itself. In sculpture, she works with bronze.

Her work has toured important art galleries in Italy, Canada, United States, Puerto Rico, Panama, Venezuela, France and Israel.
