Medals for the Dominican Republic in Athletics
The Dominican Republic received three gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze medals at the XII Ibero-American Athletics Championship. The contest took place on May, 2006 at the Francisco Montaner Stadium in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Some of the winning Dominican athletes were: Juana Castillo (gold) in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relay race, who also broke the national record set by Judith Mendez at the Pan-American Games, Santo Domingo 2003; Irving Guerrero, Yoel Baez, Juan Sainfleur and Carlos Garcia (gold), in the relay race 4 x 100.
