Government Will Submit Supplementary Budget Next Week

The Economy Minister, Vicente Bengoa, announced that next week the Executive Power will submit the Supplementary Budget in which the subsidization of bread is expected to be continued.

Bengoa said the proposal will be submitted once the delegation led by Dominican President Leonel Fernández returns from Venezuela after having participated in the Petro-Caribbean meeting, according to a press release from the President’s Office of Information, Press and Publicity.

Bengoa added that, this week, he would personally explain to the President what the Supplementary Budget consists of. He added that a subsidy payment for bread bakers is also being contemplated in the budget and that they are making the necessary efforts to be able to settle the debt currently owed to this sector, which is estimated to be close to 150 million pesos.
