Freddy Beras Goico Presents his Book “Part of My Life”

Freddy Beras Goico launched his new book “Part of My Life” in an act at the Conference Hall of the History and Geography Museum at Culture Plaza, site if the Graphic Artists Pavilion of the 11th International Book Fair of Santo Domingo 2008.

The well-known comedian presented Freddy’s book saying that “the talent of its author is so vast that a book by him is interesting within the framework of the word games, grammatical usages and reiterations.”

Pamela Sued hosted the ceremony which was transmitted live on “With Freddy and Punto.” Writer and comedian Mario Emilio Pérez introduced the writer at the event. The well-known comedian presented Freddy’s book saying that “the talent of its author is so vast that a book by him is interesting within the framework of the word games, grammatical usages and reiterations.”

Pérez added that “with Freddy Beras Goico, his kindness, vocation to public service and compassion for the suffering of others has the same dimensions of his genius; I say this without fear of exaggeration because the Dominican people, who have enjoyed every twist and turn of his personality, know full well how true these statements are.”

Freddy Beras, filled the conference hall with smiles with one hilarious anecdote after another about his childhood and his recent years in which he’d been struggling with illness.

“I didn’t write this book – it’s a compendium of experiences just like those of all Dominican families. Mine has long anecdotes from which I took part to put in this book, the first of various because I still have much more to tell.”

Part of My Life, 184 pages, is the first book written, printed and put into circulation at the 11th International Book Fair of Santo Domingo 2008.

Beras Goico said he was working on two more books: “Winning is Prohibited” and “The Most Important People in the World” which will soon be out for publication.

Other books written by the humorist include La Mulatona, a collection of quartets that make up the “Noon Show” program, published in the first blush of the 70s; “Juan de los Palotes,” which tells the story of Beras Goico’s life during the end of the Trujillo dictatorship and the beginning of the Balaguer era; Book of Excuses with his ñapa, based on the Dominican idiosyncrasies.

Beras Goico said he was working on two more books: “Winning is Prohibited” and “The Most Important People in the World” which will soon be out for publication.
