Brazilians Confirm Preference for Dominican Republic as Tourist Destination

Brazil’s growing predilection for the DR as their favorite tourist destination continues to consolidate. This was confirmed, for one, by the fact that the CVC tourism operators’ agency has extended its charter flights from Brazil to the DR until the first week of August.

“This information,” noted Majela in a tourism ministry press release, “confirms that our efforts to position the DR as the Caribbean destination of choice for the Brazilian market is paying off.”

Andréa Majela, Director of the Dominican Tourism Promotion Office in Brazil, said this measure “confirmed five flights from Sao Paolo to Punta Cana for the first phase of the Charter flight plans,” of the CVC tour operator agency.

“This information,” noted Majewla in a tourism ministry press release, “confirms that our efforts to position the DR as the Caribbean destination of choice for the Brazilian market is paying off.”

According to Central Bank data, 4,699 Brazilian tourists visited the DR during the first quarter of 2008. This tendency implies that the numbers will continue to rise significantly throughout the course of the year when compared to 2007 data, taking into account that last year 12,437 visitors from all of the South America arrived by plane to the DR.
