Novelist and playwright Haffe Serulle will present the theater piece Kali-Gula-Bach from April 19-30 at 8:00 p.m. in the Manuel Rueda Hall at the Fine Arts Building. This play was written in homage to Spanish poet Vicente Aleixandre and composer Johan Sebastian Bach. The play is being presented under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, the General Directorate of Fine Arts and the Foundation of Arts and Science.

The show expresses the content and significance of blood throughout humanity’s long process of development and encourages us to defend it as a fundamental element of life.

Kali-Gula-Bach is a theater piece made up of Vicente Aleixandre’s poems set to Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos, according to a press release from the Ministry of Culture.

The show expresses the content and significance of blood throughout humanity’s long process of development and encourages us to defend it as a fundamental element of life. That is, the blood we shed through violence that grips the majority of countries in the world is nothing more than a warning that we remain far from comprehending, in all its dimensions and its true value. This theater piece allows us to reflect on the implications of the blood spilled in the permanent conflict between man and man, man and society and between man and nature.

This show is a song dedicated to music, to the word, to love and, through its form, it is a challenge to art itself. The public will have the opportunity to enjoy a singular and transcendental experience in the context of universal theater.
