Sociologist César Cuello’s “Saturn Devoured by Father Time”

Sociologist César Cuello Nieto released his novel “Saturn Devoured by Father Time,” which, according to Lucero Arboleda of the Emilio Rodriguez Demorizi Library, “submerges us into the labyrinth of time with the explicit intention of making the past the breeding ground for the future.”

“The writer has decided to make his novel a healthy tribute to the freedom of mankind,”…

In his novel, Cuello Nieto captures the human reality of a small town in the Dominican Republic in whose name the characters, linked by indestructible and at times fateful family ties, live their lives.

“The author is on the wide and privileged path with those writers capable of debating grandiose topics with simple words,” said Lucero Arboleda, who acted as presenter at the book’s launching.

The author places us face to face with passions such as anger, vengeance and vanity or unsuspecting powers such as justice and freedom – all with the capacity to save us or push us to the inevitable abyss of death. Through this book, the author, as a student of the human condition from the depths of philosophy and sociology, has decided to share with us his reflections that go beyond the simple esthetic of what is beautiful and what is ugly, what is good and what is bad. “The writer has decided to make his novel a healthy tribute to the freedom of mankind,” said Arboleda.
