National Car Racing Championship Begins March 2

The head of the Dominican Car Racing Circuit Club announced that the 2008 National Car Racing Championship for 2008 will be held on March 2. The race, to be held at the new Cibao Racing Tracks circuit, will be held at the site of the old Cibao Airport.

“This year, we of the Dominican Racers Club have decided to increase our expectations now that, for the first time in the Dominican Republic, the car race for national championship will be held in two different sites: the new track in Cibao (the former Cibao airport) and the Autodromo 1 (the former Las America Autodromo) which is about the open soon,” explained Maurice Viau, president of the CDCC.

Drivers who are participating on March 2 in the Kendall Grand Premier of 2008 Car Race will be warming up this Sunday on the Cibao Racing Tracks of the former airport, said Bienvenido Abréu, administrator of the track.

The Cibao Racing Track at the old airport will be open on Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
