“Vibrating in Love”, an Invitation to Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Books, lectures, inspirational phrases and publications concerning the life and work of patrician Juan Pablo Duarte are available for all audiences in a new web portal presented by the Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Margarita Cedeño, with the aim of promoting among youth the example, values and thoughts of the father of the nation.

Through the new portal Cedeño calls on youth to emulate the example of Duarte and strengthen in the popular imagination moral references to serve as a guide to their actions.

In the activity, that took place at Biblioteca Infantil y Juvenil República Dominicana (BIJRD), the vice-president also gave the Instituto Duartiano a donation of 1000 copies of her publication entitled “Dialogue with Juan Pablo Duarte”, which is an imaginary conversation between the patrician and Margarita Cedeño, where they exchange ideas about the country he forged, his aspirations for the nation, and the one which is currently being built by this generation.

The author aims at claiming Duarte as a moral referent since he is an example of honesty and responsibility, respect for religious differences, endless love for family and the other, and above all love for the country above personal and economic interests.

After receiving the donation, the president of Instituto Duartiano, José Joaquín Pérez Saviñón, exhorted youths to turn to Duarte and follow him as a model to reach the just and happy nation the patrician had hoped for. The event took place amid the framework of commemorative activities in the month celebrating the Nation and the 203 anniversary of the birth of Juan Pablo Duarte.
