Call for the 5th Youth Poetry and Short Story Competition of the 9th Dominican Book Fair in NY

The Dominican Commissioner of Culture in the United States announced the 5th Youth Poetry and Short Story Competition of the 9th Dominican Book Fair in New York 2015. The competition, which will award cash prizes of US$800, is addressed to high school students in the United States and Puerto Rico.

This annual competition is coordinated by writer and teacher Rubén Sánchez Féliz, who invited all high school students, regardless of their nationality, to participate in the competition and to attend the 9th Dominican Book Fair in New York, to be held on September 25, 26 and 27, 2015, at the Gregorio Luperón School in Manhattan.

“Our goal is to encourage high school students to nurture the wonderful world of literature and to visit the book fair and participate in it,” said Mr. Carlos Sánchez, Commissioner of Culture.

The categories that will compete are: Poetry and Short Story. Submitted works shall be signed with a pseudonym and only those that are sent by email to: Concursojuvenilferia@gmail.com will be accepted.
