For the 4th consecutive year, Teatro Guloya has organized the Maratón Teatral de 24 Horas (24-Hour Theater Marathon) at its headquarters located in the Colonial City. The event will take place this coming Saturday, April 11 at 4 pm and it will close at 4 pm on Sunday, April 12.

The Guloya Theater has organized the 4th Theater Marathon as part of the celebrations of the World Theater Day, which was commemorated on March 27, 2015. 27 theater groups made of professionals, University students, theater enthusiasts, independent artists, and theater students from both the Escuela de Arte Dramático de Bellas Artes and the UASD University, will perform at the event.

A total of 156 artists will perform at this year’s event. They will stage 54 different plays and acts throughout the 24 hours the event will last. A conversation on the current situation of the Escuela de Bellas Artes is also scheduled to take place as part of the program.

This theater marathon is unique both across the country and throughout the region. Every year it is well received by the public, thereby becoming a celebration for both the theater performers and the public. Because of the popularity of the event, we have organized parallel events that will take place in the lobby, the patio and the multi-purpose lounge at the headquarters building during the peak hours, between 8 am to 12 pm.

The theater marathon will begin on Saturday, April 11 at 3:00 pm with a parade around the neighborhood where the theater is located. The performing artists and the public, accompanied by the musical band Los Bomberos, will participate in this parade. The 24 hours of performances will then begin indoors at 4:00 pm and wrap up on Sunday, April 12 at 4:00 pm.

Admission to this theater event has a symbolic price of $50 pesos at the door every time attendees wish to enter the event, but, once inside, they may stay for as long as they wish. A multi-entry VIP pass is also available for $200 pesos for those wishing to enter the event multiple times.
