Children International and the Dominican Rehabilitation Association Join Efforts on Behalf of the Community of Mendoza

On Saturday, February 21, over 700 residents from the community of Mendoza-Santo Domingo reaped benefits under the strategic alliance between Children International and the Dominican Rehabilitation Association (ADR for its acronym in Spanish) during the health care event conducted at the Children International community center located in said community.

During the event, which was open to the community, general services in the fields of medicine, physiatry, pediatrics, cardiology, orthopedics, psychology and dentistry were provided.

The event was coordinated by Grecia Cruz, Altagracia Corcino and Euménides Moscoso (heads of Social Work and the Department of User Services at the ADR, respectively), together with Dr. Peña, Rafael Herrera (Health Program Coordinator and Program Manager at Children International in the Dominican Republic), and the team behind the community center led by Damaris Severino and Elvira Polanco (Center Coordinator and Social Worker, respectively). In addition, they had the support of the team in charge of sponsorship relations and community volunteerism, which contributed significantly to the success of the event.

Dr. Yannik Peña, Health Program Coordinator at Children International in the Dominican Republic, expressed her gratitude and satisfaction with the open house and noted the importance of such activities for the poorest communities.

“Apart from strengthening us as an institution, such partnerships also help our respective missions to be carried out. It is exciting to see people happy to know that they have a helping hand to alleviate their situation,” said Grecia Cruz, during the food delivery included in the event.
