The opening remarks were offered by María Elena Ditrén, Director of the MAM, who said that one hundred and twelve (112) countries from five (5) continents that link East and West are participating and shape the largest artistic event of the Republic Dominican; for a moment they turn this country into the focal and the central point of the largest event of this nature nationally and internationally, and the largest of its kind in the world.

She added that “these results are only possible because of the tenacity, passion and enthusiasm of its prime driving force, Thimo Pimentel, who we congratulate and thank for making it possible and who reminds us of the fruitful impression of his commitment and passion.”

In addition, the Minister of Culture, José Antonio Rodríguez, recognized Dominican artist Thimo Pimentel, organizer and founder of the Ceramic’s Triennial, for his contributions to the national visual arts, his tireless efforts in promoting ceramic art in the country and abroad, through the Igneri Foundation.
