¡¡EL 28, el Pequeño Manicomio de GULOYA!!

By popular request, the play “El 28” returns to the Otto Coro hall of Teatro Guloya. Presentations will take place on the weekends, between August 8th and August 17th.Claudio Rivera wrote the script inspired by the book “Mis 500 Locos”, by Antonio Zaglul.

El 28 features performances by two young talents of the Dominican Theater: Yerlim Guzmán and Noel Ventura, accompanied by renowned actors Vienna González and Claudio Rivera…

Last April, Rivera’s script had a dramatized reading in Lisbon, Portugal, by the actors of the Doña María II National Theater Company.

El 28 portrays an asylum where Taliban, mamberos, cocolo, and terrorists, represent what for some is our most distinctive condition: a contemplative hyperactivity. The production of the Guloya Theatre has received the New York ITA award (by the Independent Theater Association of New York) and three nominations to the Cassandra Awards in Santo Domingo.

The “Patients”, played by three excellent actors,… make the scene a whirlwind of movement where all the human expressive forms of the body and the spirit are portrayed. The para-theatrical elements and the pathetic humor “will evoke the chaos” led by Rivera.

Performances will take place on the weekend, on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 pm, and on Sundays at 6:30 pm, at the headquarters of the Guloya Theatre, located in Archbishop Portes #205, Colonial City.
