The Ministry of Labor, specifically the National Wages Committee, revised Resolution No. 6/2011 from June 1st 2011 and established a new minimum wage at a national level for workers that lend their services to non-profit organizations that are dedicated to health, education, rehabilitation of persons with disabilities and services for third parties free of charge.


With the new provision, the minimum monthly salary for these workers has been established at RD$ 8,220.00 Dominican pesos.

The resolution was passed August 20th, 2013 by unanimous vote.


The resolution also provides a minimum salary for trainees, in accordance with the current rate, but calculated according to how many hours of training were carried out at their organization.


In a similar manner, workerswith salaries greater than the minimum just approved will still receive their same salary, in accordance withthe provisions in Article 217 of the Labor Code, with no risk of that salary increasing by agreement between the parties.


This resolution modifies, as necessary, any other that may be contrary to it or precedes it.
