State Budget Dining Rooms began delivering food to schools with extended day program The General Administration of the State Budget Dining Rooms began delivering food to the various schools participating in the extended school day program, as per agreement with the National Directorate of Student Welfare. In this first delivery, the State Budget Dining Rooms distributed food to six schools in the Monte Plata Province, at Nuestra Señora del Carmen high school in the Simón Bolívar neighborhood, where 450 students from secondary school will benefit, and at the Polytechnic Santa Clara de Asís, located in the Ensanche el Capotillo, where about 400 people, including administrative staff, will benefit. While touring the schools, Mr. Ramón Monchy Rodríguez, General Manager of the State Budget Dining Rooms, informed that the Ministry of Education will pay a fee of 35 pesos per ration and that such amount shall be audited in coordination with the schools, the financial administration of the State Budget Dining Rooms and the National Directorate of Student Welfare. Mr. Rodríguez also said that the institution he manages begins a challenge today, for which it has prepared from the stand points of budget and the logistics for the distribution: “the State Budget Dining Rooms is committed to providing continuous quality service so that there is no food shortage regarding the items that make up the menu that has been agreed with the National Directorate of Student Welfare,” Rodríguez said. With regard to the food items being supplied, Monchy said that the menu consists of pastas, meats, cereals, beans, grains, sardines and cod, with the aim of guaranteeing the carbohydrates and proteins that are necessary for the students’ academic performance.
