Alfaguara Infantil presents Sábado de Ranas by Farah Hallal
Alfaguara Infantil announces the presentation of the children’s story “Sábado de ranas (Saturday of frogs),” by poet and storyteller Farah Hallal, on Saturday, September 7, at 11:00 am, in the playground of the Cuesta bookstore.

The activity is open to the public. Nelson Liriano, reading facilitator, will provide an appreciation of the story. There will be a game of crazy frogs and, collectively, a space to tell stories about frogs and toads. In turn, the author will read her favorite passages.
This book tells the story of Enrique and Elisa, who love and care for frogs to the point of bringing them into their room, even though their ??mother cannot even see them. The day Enrique became sick with fever and there is a dengue epidemic in the neighborhood, the siblings get themselves in a big mess which the frogs help solve.
“Sábado de ranas” is a publication of the Alfaguara Infantil local reader plan; it has 48 pages and the illustrations were made by Lucy Makuc, from Argentina.
Farah Hallal is dedicated to publishing books and coordinating socio-cultural programs, among which cultural activism and the promotion of reading stand out. She has published the following books of poems: “Sol infinito (Infinite sun),” “Una mujer en caracol (A woman in snail),” and “Borrándome (Erasing myself).” She was founding Director of the children’s magazine Revulú, published in Santo Domingo (2005-2006).
This will be a fun and educational activity around the lives of frogs.
