The National Council on Social Security (CNSS – Consejo Nacional de Seguridad Social), approved the temporary increase of RD$47.31 of the per capita contribution to the Family Health Insurance (SFS – Seguro Familiar de Salud) of the Tax Regimen, which will be applicable starting on August 1st, 2013.

The President of the National Council on Social Security, Maritza Hernández, informed that, as established in Resolution 321-01, the CNSS indicates that, starting on that date, the amount that each member must contribute for the SFS to the system is RD$835.89.

The President of the National Council on Social Security, Maritza Hernández, informed that, as established in Resolution 321-01, the CNSS indicates that, starting on that date, the amount that each member must contribute for the SFS to the system is RD$835.89.
She explained that in the same provision, the Council ordered the extension of the term of coverage for medical care in cases of traffic accidents until June 30th, 2014, inclusive.

Therefore, “the Health Risk Administrators (ARS – Administradoras de Riesgos de Salud) and the National Health Insurance (SENASA – Seguro Nacional de Salud) and their network of Health Service Providers (PSS – Prestadores de Servicios de Salud) must provide the corresponding services to their members,” the organization sets forth in the resolution.

Likewise, the increase of RD$1.50 per capita for the National Fund for Medical Care due to Road Traffic (FONAMAT – Fondo Nacional para Atenciones Médicas por Accidentes de Tránsito) was also approved; therefore, the contribution for that service will increase from RD$6.00 to RD$7.50.

The CNSS, chaired by Ms. Maritza Hernández, has agreed to study during the next two sessions the indexation of the Pension for Disability and Survivorship of the Tax Regulations and Monitoring Mechanisms for the contributions to the SDSS by Casual and Temporary Workers.

“The National Council on Social Security (CNSS) will focus on addressing, in an urgent manner, the entry into force of the First Level of Health Care as a gateway to the services of the Basic Health Plan of the Family Health Insurance of the Tax Regimen, the launching of the Subsidized Tax Regime and the review and update of the List of Benefits of the Health Services Plan (PDSS for its acronym in Spanish),” the resolution states.
