ll branches of La Barrica Sports Bar were closed due to violations of articles 221-237-238-250-257 of Law 11-92. Also, Mon Cherie and My Kids stores were closed down for not using fiscal printers in their stores.



The Directorate General of the Internal Revenue continues closing down businesses located in Santo Domingo, National District, and in Santo Domingo Oeste.


The Directorate General of the Internal Revenue (DGII for its acronym in Spanish) continues closing down businesses located in Santo Domingo, National District, and in Santo Domingo Oeste. During these operations business were closed for non-payment of taxes and for not using fiscal printers in their establishments.


The businesses that were closed are owned by taxpayers who have registered multiple defaults and delinquencies in meeting their tax obligations, and who previously had been notified and warned that they would be closed unless they regularized their situation.


This time, the following establishments were closed for lacking fiscal printers: Mon Cherie, located in Plaza Central, and My Kids, in the Bella Vista Mall. All branches of La Barrica Sports Bar were closed (Ave Venezuela, Mega Centro and Abraham Lincoln Esq Jos̩ Amado Soler) due to having multiple payment defaults and delinquencies on income taxes, taxes on the transfer of industrialized goods (ITBIS РImpuesto a la Transferencia de Bienes Industrializados) and advance payments. They also were fined for not using their RNC (the Dominican tax id card) and their Tax Receipt Numbers in their invoices.


The business closing operation took place in accordance with the legal provisions of the Tax Code and General Standard No.23-96 on Closure of Establishments and / or Suspension of Activities. Seven businesses were closed as a result.


These operations will continue until the list of businesses that have orders of closing in accordance with the Dominican tax legislation, which provides for the temporary closure of a business to secure the payment of taxes, to raise the perception of risk within the community and the economic sectors on tax evasion, and to correct a distortion in the market where competitors interact in unequal conditions given that some pay taxes and others do not, is complete.
