The Ministry of Labor graduates 540 youth from the Youth and Employment Program

T he Ministry of Labor and the Vocational Technical Training Institute (INFOTEP – Instituto de Formación Técnico Profesional) graduated 540 youths from the various technical courses of the Youth and Employment program, in several municipalities located in the south part of the country.



More than half of the graduates are women, 30% of whom are single mothers. They completed their vocational training in various fields and in youth entrepreneurship, while also carrying out their individual internships.


The Director General of Employment, Bienvenido Castillo, urged young people to start a new phase in their lives, which is their incorporation into the work force with values, principles, integrity and professional ethics in order to boost their income.


More than half of the graduates are women, 30% of whom are single mothers. They completed their vocational training in various fields and in youth entrepreneurship, while also carrying out their individual internships.


129 young people graduated in the municipality of San Juan de la Maguana, 232 in Azua and 79 in Bani, in various career fields and some in entrepreneurship.


The Ministry of Labor, through the Directorate General for Employment, INFOTEP and the World Bank, felt elated because of the completion of these young people’s training and employment internships through the Youth Development Program.


Those who received training in entrepreneurship have been schooled within the framework of the Second Generation of Self Employment Youth, which is being implemented in the country with the support of the German GIZ in Chile, the Chilean International Cooperation Agency (AGCI for its acronym in Spanish) and Chile’s Solidarity Fund for Social Investment (FOSIS – Fondo de Solidaridad de Inversión Social).
