Healthy eating is, undoubtedly, a major factor for children to have optimal health. That is why parents need to become more aware when choosing the foods that their children will consume in school.

At the Healthy Lunchbox event that was held at Megacentro by ProduccionesBuenVivir (Good Life Productions), renowned chef Juancho Ortiz, representing Baltimore Dominicana (Baldom), presented four recipes as options for the little kids toreceiveenhanced nutrition and perform better in school. These recipes are:

Spanish Tortilla

Ingredients

1 Pound of potatoes
1 Onion
1 Egg
Salt
Olive Oil
Saffron

Preparation

Boil the potatoes until they are soft. Then cut them into squares. Lightly beat the egg in a bowl. In a skillet, sauté the onion that had previously been chopped in tiny cuts; add a pinch of salt and a pinch of saffron. Put it aside and introduce the potatoes and the sautéed onions into the beaten egg .

In a skillet, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and introduce the mixed potatoes. Let it simmer on both sides. Preferably, prepare it the night before. When it is cold, cut it into pieces.

Note: This recipe is ideal for the kids because it contains protein from the eggs, carbohydrates from the potatoes and the benefits of green oil

Tuna Wrap

Ingredients

Tuna
Mayonnaise
Oregano
Burrito tortilla
Cream cheese

Preparation

Preferable in a bowl, mix the tuna, mayonnaise, oregano and the cream cheese until it forms a consistent paste. Heat the burritotortilla in a pan and place it on a table and add the mixed ingredients at the center of the tortillaand roll it up. Then, cut it in two with a knife. Serve it on a plate and add a pinch of oregano to it.

This recipe is very easy. It will take less than 5 minutes to prepare it.

Honey

The good thing about this recipe is that it contains the natural sugars and fibersfrom the fruits and the milk component from the yogurt, which will help to have a better digestion.
