Rafael Marión Lindáis will be the new Director and Rector of thisacademic institution.At its Annual Members Assembly, the Dominican-American Cultural Institution recently elected a new Board of Directors for 2013-2014, headed by engineer Rafael MariónLindáis. Starting this May he will be the new Executive Director of the Dominican American Cultural Institution as well as the Rector of the Dominican-American University.


During the ceremony a farewell cocktail was held for Elizabeth De Windt, the previous Executive Director of the Dominican-American Cultural Institution and Rector of the University for almost 22 years. She gave a very emotional account of her passage through the organization, starting at her arrival in 1991.


The event that was held in theExhibition Hall of the academic institution with the attendance of important people such as the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT), Ligia Amada Melo and Todd Haskell, Advisor for Public Affairs at the Franklin Center in the United States Embassy.


The new members that will form the Board of Directors for 2013-2014 are: José del Carmen Ariza (President), Ricardo Feris (Vice-President), Julio de Windt (Secretary), Ellen Ducy de Pérez (Vice-Secretary), DarysEstrella (Treasurer) and Darío Lama Reyes (Vice-Treasurer).


Additional members of the board are: Engracia Franjunl de Abate, EnedinaCórdova de Pereyra, Jhon Dunne, Jerry W. Dupuy, William Gambrel, Hector VinicioMella, Mark Reilly, Wilson Rood, Earl Threan and Arthur Valdez.

De Windt thanked everyone who collaborated with the development of the institution, from the executives to the support staff, throughout its 66 years.


With its new directive the Dominican-American Cultural Institution will continue with its promise to teach English to the country, staying at the forefront with its broad academic repertoire of quality and efficiency.
