The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI – InstitutoNacional de EducaciónFísica), and the Ministry of Education (MINERD), have launched the “juega (play)” program, which seeks to bring healthy and cheerful entertainment to all the children of the Dominican Republic, given that there is no better way to educate and to teach values than through games and recreation conducted by well-trained teachers, such as those working in the public and private schools in the country.

This innovative program maintains harmony in the schools for those who participate in it as well as for those who serve as observers, since there is nothing more beautiful than to watch children playing in environments that are healthy and fun.

Both, the Director of the INEFI, Mr. Danilo Mesa, as well as the Minister of Education, Josefina Pimentel, are interested in promoting values ??through fair play and good manners. It is for these and other reasons that the “juega” program is spreading across the country.

This innovative program maintains harmony in the schools for those who participate in it as well as for those who serve as observers, since there is nothing more beautiful than to watch children playing in environments that are healthy and fun.

We send our congratulations and urge to continue this educational work which is so important for Dominican children. We believe in our people, we believe in our human resources, and for these reasons we know that physical education teachers are carrying out important work for the physical and motor development of our students.

In addition to entertaining the participants, games teach how to be a better person.Cooperative play teaches how to resolve everyday conflictsas well as how to mediate in such conflicts. This is why this work is of the utmost importance for the development of Dominican Education.
