The Ministry of Labor has validated the inquiries made on employment generation with public and private institutions. These will serve as the basis for drawing up the National Employment Plan, as announced by President Danilo Medina.


The official added that 70 agencies participated in the study, of which 52 belong to the private sector and 18 to the public sector.


The Minister of Labor, Maritza Hernández, who coordinated the study with all sectors, reported that according to the projections they are able to contribute to the economy a significant number of jobs that could exceed the expectations created by the Government, taking into account planned investments.


The official added that 70 agencies participated in the study, of which 52 belong to the private sector and 18 to the public sector.


She explained that,among the objectives of the consultations,what was highlighted was the need to generate information on investment and the jobs that the investmentscould generate, bothpermanently and temporarily, directly and indirectly.


Another objective is to gather information on the needs that the private sector has to ensure a more dynamic investment.


Also, take the appropriate measures to promote work in the sectors of society that are at risk, underscoring women, youth and people with special needs.


Among the sectors that were invited to participate in the validation work are:the SMEs, industry and trade, banking, consortia, construction, transportation, mining, agriculture, energy, public works, and education, among others.


The meetings with representatives of the aforementioned agencies were conducted between the months of November, 2012 and January, 2013.The Internal Commission on Active Employment Policies of the Ministry of Laborcarried out 10 sectoral consultations.
