Sasa Queliz will perform in the Dominican Republic

In celebration of the Dance Month, the Embassy of Germany in the Dominican Republic, the Ministry of Culture and the National Contemporary Dance Company (CNDC – CompañíaNacional de DanzaContemporánea) will host renowned Dominican dancerSasaQueliz, who for several years has beena member of the Sasha Waltz Guest, one of the most important contemporary dance troupes in Germany and throughout Europe.

Next Friday, April 19, at 8:30 p.m., the Dominican dancer will lead a structured improvisation at the Dominican-German Center. The event will be open to the public and the admission is free of charge.

The German Embassy in the Dominican Republic, under the administration of Ambassador, Dr. Thomas C. Bruns, will sponsorSasaQueliz’spresentations and dance classes as a means to strengthening the cultural relations between the two countries.

Sasa Quelizwill share her pedagogical and artistic experiences with choreographers, dancers and the general public, as part of CNDC’splan to developcontemporary dance in the country.

The program of her visit, under the direction of Cuban Choreographer and CNDC Director,MarianelaBoan, includes a workshop on “Technique and Improvisation” for dancers of the national troupe and guests. And on April 17 she will offer a Master Class on Contemporary Dance in the National Ballet Hall at the Palace of Fine Arts, at 7:00 pm.The Master Class will be open to the public.For registration: danzacontemporaneadgba@gmail.com.
