This event is part of Chef Tita’s plan to rescue and promote Dominican Gastronomy.

Chef Tita has been invited by the Dominican Consulate in New York City to deliver a keynote speech covering the history and evolution of the local cuisine and to present her project “Nouvelle Dominican Cuisine,” on Wednesday, the 20th of this month, at the Consulate..


The Consulate, taking into account her experience and her struggle rescuingthe Dominican cuisine, as well as her project, has organized this eventwhichis aimed at Latin American Consuls in this city, Ambassadors to the United Nations, leaders of the Dominican community, and the media.


“I am a proud Dominican, a lover of food culture and the wealth we have inherited, and I hope to raise, with the gifts that God has placed in my hands, our gastronomy to another level and to ensure that it becomes a cuisine capable of competing with the best in the world,that is trendy, more cutting edge and modern. This is the reason for my struggle and effortsof several years promoting this project through my work and the media,”Chef Tita said. “This invitation from the Dominican Consulate in New York is, without a doubt, a tremendous boost to achieving these objectives,” she added welcoming Consul Ronny Martínez’s initiative.


In New York Chef Tita will also keep a broad agenda of outreachto the media and the Dominican community, visits to culinary schools and restaurants, as well as to personalities in the industry, who will then participate in workshops of Nouvelle Dominican Cuisine. These activities are part of the broad international phase of the project.


The keynote speech has the support of corporate sponsors, such as:Cocina Gourmet, 809 Lounge NYC, Prieto Nouel, Detalles Típicos, Golf View, Frontera, Plaza Lama and Páez Eventos y Relaciones Públicas (Paez Events and Public Relations).


After concluding her participation in New York, Chef Tita will continue developing the international phase of her project with other activities that will take place in the city of Boston and in Canada, among other places.


The New Dominican Cuisine


It is a form of expression which highlights the creativity, imagination and feelings of this professional chefwith a view to carrying out her ideal ofraising the local gastronomy to another level and to convert it into a cuisine capable of competing with the best in the world.

After undertaking an arduous work of research that brought her to all the regions of the country, Chef Tita seeksto rescuethe Dominican gastronomic heritage, by strengthening the virtues of the current gastronomy and reinventing it with touches of avant-garde, modernity and elegance through new techniques, new creations and the use of local resources and products.

About Chef Tita


Chef Tita is a graduate of UNIBE’s school of Hospitality and Tourism. She interned at the Trip Hotel Bosque de Palma de Mallorca, Spain, and earned a diploma in Culinary Arts from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM).


During her 11 years of uninterrupted culinary career she has explored diverse culinary scenarios, such as Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Spain. “Chef Tita,” as she has been dubbed by the public that follows her, is the Chef Owner of “Chef en tu casa servicios de banquete y catering (Chef at home banquet and catering services)” and she is a food stylist for renowned national and international brands.


She is the host of the “Cocina Gourmet (Gourmet Cuisine)” program,which airs nationally and internationally, as well as the segment “La Ruta Gastronómica (The Gourmet Route),” by Uepa Radio Show, and the “A 4 Tiempos por la 95.7” in the Nota Diferente FM radio. She also writes the food column on the cover of the Life section in the newspaper Listin Diario, food columns for the following Dominican magazines:Golf View, Sala de Espera, Rexpuestas, Uepa Mag, and the food section of the Dominicana.orgwebsite, which she uses as a platform to promote the rescue and reinvention of the new Dominican cuisine with her style and type of cuisine.
