Creación Masiva presents two short films at the International Film Festival of Santo Domingo Creación Masiva (Mass Creation) will present two of its most recent proposals at the XV International Film Festival of Santo Domingo, which will take place April 11 – 20, 2013. It is a story about love and acceptance in which the character interpreted (and created) by Laura Angelina will face a fork in the road: to stay permanently in her world of dreams or to face her reality. “Aquella que va sobre zancos (That one who goes on stilts),” by Francisco Montas, and “Capeón (Champion),” by Mikhail Peralta Rodríguez, are the short films that the productioncompany will present and which have been completed during the last semester. “Aquella que va sobre zancos (That one who goes on stilts)”(13”), is the fourth short film by Francisco Montas, and it is a great drama written by the director and Laura Angelina, who also stars in the production. The film tells the story of a young autistic girl who on the day of her 17th birthday disguises herself as a clown and goes out of her home dreaming of finding in the street what she always had when her father wasalive and what she now can no longer have with her mother. It is a story about love and acceptance in which the character interpreted (and created) by Laura Angelina will face a fork in the road: to stay permanently in her world of dreams or to face her reality. This project was also supported by the Cyber ??Park Film School, of the ITLA. “Campeón (Champion)” (15”), is the first short film by journalist Mikhail Peralta, who wrote and directed this story. It is a drama starring Johnnie Mercedes, Giovanny Cruz,Amauris Pérez and Josué Guerrero. It tells the story of Arcadio, a park ranger in a national park, a job he accepted in order to evade justice for a crime he committed long ago back in his village. He tries to keep his freedom alone in the park, together with his dog Campeón. When his dog goes astray, the park ranger starts to feel imprisoned in the park, and the desperation of findinghis dog and fleeing the park drive him to the brink of the impossible in order to escape from his natural prison. Both short films were made by a team almost entirely identical. It should be noted that in both Alexander Viola was the director of cinematography. The cinematography in bothprojects was achieved with very good results. Equally, Omar Patin was responsible for the editing in both projects. |
