Conference on Hilma Contreras, part of the pre-opening season of the International Book Fair

The conference”Los misterios de Hilma Contreras (The Mysteries of Hilma Contreras)” was held on March 19, in the framework of the pre-opening season of the International Book Fair (FIL – Feria Internacional del Libro). The conference, by renowned author Ylonka Nacidit Perdomo, highlighted the literary qualities of the franco-macorisan author, and took place at the Universidad Católica Nordestana.

This activity was organized by the University’s Academic Vice-Rector’s office and the School of Modern Languages.

The sixteenth edition of the FIL will have Ecuador as its guest of honor and it will be dedicated to the aforementioned writer, who was the first Dominican woman to receive the National Book Award.
