Ministry of Labor Recognizes Workers on International Women’s Day

In honor of women’s rights, their contributions and capabilities in the construction of more equitable societies, the Ministry of Labor recognized a group of its employees in an event held for International Women’s Day.

In her keynote speech, Labor Minister Maritza Hernández said that during her tenure at the Ministry, she has placed special emphasis on the struggle for gender equality.

She handed out plaques to seven women in recognition of their outstanding work and dedication. She also gave certificates to another 20 women for their excellent work.

Minister Hernández named the women who make up the Department of Gender Equality of the Ministry, calling them the guardians of women’s right both inside and outside the institution.

Minister Maritza Hernández, Jennifer Agramonte, Director of Human Resources and Julia Mendez from the Office of Gender Equality handed out the honors. The event was held at the Workshop School of Santo Domingo.
