50 high temperature ceramic cylinders decorated with prints, each one different from the others, and eachindividually numbered and signed by the artist, were placed at landmarksites throughout the Dominican capital, ranging from a century-oldcemetery to the altar of the homeland. These works of art were positioned in risky if not dangerous places. People who found the objects and used their ingenuity to retrieve them could keep them. Then they were asked to lend them for the exhibit.

This event took place to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the start of the construction of the Catedral Primada de las Américas (the oldest cathedral in the Americas). It is also a teaching tool that will take them from the Kilometer Zero landmark, where the most exceptional art work, “El Clavo de la Primada”(recalling the Nigrish Nail, which marked the start of construction work of the great palaces centuries BC in Gudea) was placed, up to the most visited places in Santo Domingo, America’s oldest city.

The exhibit will be available at the Centro de la Imagen until Tuesday, January 15, 2013, the date when the catalog will be released.
