Culture organized recital “Voces en libertad”

The Ministry of Culture, through the Vice Ministry of Cultural Heritage, organized the concert “Voces en Libertad”.

The objective of this event, which takes place at the beginning of each year, is to carry outthe activities and recitals established by said office.

The event was organized by the Office of the National Systemof Literary Workshops, led by writer Valentin Amaro, and took placeat the Librería de Cultura, located in Las Atarazanas in the Colonial City.

For over an hour, attendees enjoyed good poetry in an emotionally charged atmosphere.

The following poets read during the event: Camelia Michel, Farah Hallal and Jennet Tineo. Also poets José Alejandro Peña, National Poetry Award 1986;JoséÁngelMercedes Brattini, Youth Prize for Poetry at the International Book Fair 2012; and Luis Reynaldo Pérez, Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo’sPedro Mir Poetry Prize 2012.

Distinguished personalities of the cultural world attended the famous event. Also in attendancewere: Freddy Ginebra, Manuel Salvador Gautier, Alejandro Aguilar, Noé Zayas, Radhamés Polanco, Alexei Tellerías, César Zapata, Ramón Saba, Luis Carvajal, and Juan Freddy Armando, among others.

In the words of Valentín Amaro, manager of the Librería de Cultura and director of the National System of Literary Workshops, this and other activities such as writing workshops, book presentations, readings, meetings with writers, and film forum will be held each week at the Librería de Cultura.
