Theater play “De arriba abajo” opened in the gardens of the Palace of Fine Arts

Play wright and theater director Haffe Serulle opened the play “De arriba abajo” in the gardens of the Palace of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture. The event was attended mainly by a young audience.

The play’s underlying message is that power should not be exercised individually but rather from the collective point of view. Through the dialogues and situations it suggests that the peoples should be the architects of their own destinies.

It looks at theproblems of exercising power through the ruling of a circus. Clowns, stilt walkers, jesters, acrobats on bicycles and other characters that give life to a plot full of incidents make their appearance and interact among themselves during the show.

The actors use knownstories of entanglements and conspiracies between kings and queens, princes and princesses. “De arriba abajo” stagesa kingdom where magic prevails. In it,people celebrate the crowning of a stilt walking king: the only stilt walkingking that has existed in the history of mankind.

The play’s underlying message is that power should not be exercised individually but rather from the collective point of view. Through the dialogues and situations it suggests that the peoples should be the architects of their own destinies.

The play also alerts rulers that their judgments and efforts should be oriented to the material and spiritual welfare of society.

The troupe was made up of graduates from the National School of Dramatic Art. Among them, Eliangi Rosario, Leytter Mena, Anmy Rodríguez,Yasiris Báez, Gianny Beltré, Juan Carlos de los Santos and Belnis Aquino.
