Gaspar Hernández, Espaillat. The association for the promotion and development of this tourist city, which is located on the northern coast, held a dinner conference with the Attorney General of the Republic, Dr. Francisco Domínguez Brito.


The speaker thanked the organizers of this momentous occasion, which brought together representatives of the majority of the institutions that are located in Espaillat and in the Northern Coast. The dinner conference was very emotional and the most fundamental values to keep the family together and to make it a functional one were conveyed.

In addition, Mr. Domínguez Brito highlighted the importance of not encouraging counter-values with?in the family environment where there are children, adolescents and young people, given that these may possibly be the reasons why they make mistakes in the future. He cited the case of a youngster of only fourteen (14) years who was in jail because at such anearly age he had already killed several people. The youngster had witnessed crimes since the age of ten (10).


A very emotional case was the story of a boy who donated blood to save the life of his younger brother. He lovingly asked the doctor, “how is my brother?”The doctor replied “he is doing well thanks to you.” The restless child then asked the doctor, “and now when am I going to die?” This boy had offered his blood to save his brother thinking that he was giving his life for his relative.


The nation’s former presidential candidate said that on this occasion he would not place emphasis on the phenomenon of “violence” and assuredthat, due to the national campaign against the assassination of women, the rate of femicideshas been reduced to less than ten violent deaths and that the average monthly rate is ten.


During this event,Attorney GeneralDomínguezBrito was declared distinguished guest, and Dr. PríamoRodríguez, Rector of the Technological University of Santiago (UTESA),was declared adopted son and partner of ASOPRODEGAH.


Meanwhile the following persons were accepted and recognized for their great contributions to the development of the people: Dr. José Rafael Vargas, Senator of the Republic;Nieves Pappaterra, local businesswoman who a few minutes earlier had been recognized by the City Councilas exemplary family of the municipality;Remberto Cruz, Mayor of Moca;and Max Mejia, among others, who were sworn in by the parish priest Pedro Pablo Trejo who is also a member of this non-profit organization.


The president of the association for the promotion and development, Dr. Nieves HidalgoPappaterra, presented the commemorative plaques. In her speech she described the qualities of each of the new members and encouraged the audience to continue working with this association, which will bring progress and well-being to the only municipality that is not a provincial capital but has a university.
