MAM announces the Ibero-American project “Saltando Muros”
The Ministry of Culture, in coordination with the Museum of Modern Art, informs that the call for entries to the Ibero-American photography project “Saltando Muros (Jumping Over Fences)”will remain open to the public until the end of December.This project has been organized by Fundación Fondo Internacional de las Artes and the Ibero-American General Secretariat.
The Museum of Modern Art is responsible for the call for entries for this projectin the Dominican Republic. The objective of the project is to stimulate the creativity of the new generations of artists, and to promote photography as an instrument for changing social reality…
The Museum of Modern Art is responsible for the call for entries for this projectin the Dominican Republic. The objective of the project is to stimulate the creativity of the new generations of artists, and to promote photography as an instrument for changing social reality, the effectiveness of social networks in the process of social change, and the transformation of the educational role of museums.
Photographers from Argentina, Chile, Spain, Peru, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay will participate in “Saltando Muros”.Prestigious museums in those countries will host the Ibero-American travellingexhibition,which will result from the selection of the best projects that are presented at the national level in each country.
Artists between the ages of 18 and 35 years whoworkin the field of photography will be eligible to participate. Thetopicof the competition is: “The thought. El pensamiento. La idea”. The deadlinefor submission of entriesin the Dominican Republicis December 30, 2012. Up to a total of 5 entries will be selected for each country,which will become part of the pre-selected pieces that will participate in the selection of works for the travelling exhibit”Saltando Muros,” which will be put on a display inIbero-American museums.
