“Encuentro entre dos siglos (Encounter between two centuries)” is the title of the exhibit that, as part of the program of activities of the VIII Regional Book Fair Espaillat 2012, the Ministry of Culture (MINC) and the Baret Art Gallery have put togetherin one place.The exhibit displaysworks by the most outstandingartists of all timesfrom the northern region of the country.


The aim of the exhibit, among other objectives, is to promote the current and aesthetic values of the regional visual arts, as well as to offer a retrospective of the talent of that region of the country so that the new generations will become acquainted with the trajectory of those artists.


With the support of this exhibit, which will be presented at the Juan Maria ContinTechnology and CulturalCenter, near the Cáceres Park, on Tuesday at 7:00 pm, the MINC reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of local talent in the field of the arts.


The aim of the exhibit, among other objectives, is to promote the current and aesthetic values of the regional visual arts, as well as to offer a retrospective of the talent of that region of the country so that the new generations will become acquainted with the trajectory of those artists.


A total of 52 pieces will be on display, one for each artist. Among the most prominent names are: Antonio Guadalupe, Hugo Mata, Víctor Ulloa, Rosa Tavares, Guillo Pérez, Vicente Fabret, Iván Tobar, Hilario Olivo, Gaspar Cruz Mario, José Félix Moya, Eric Genao, July Monción, Cristian Tiburcio, Dustin Muñoz, Juan Trinidad and Marianela Jiménez.


Painters who have also left their art for posterityare:Yoryi Morel, Silvano Lora, Poncio Salcedo, Enrique García Godoy, Clara Ledesma, Mariana Eckert, Mario Grullón, Eligio Pichardo, Darío Suro, Justo Susana, Gaspar Mario Cruz, Jaime Colson, Alberto Ulloa, Plutarco Andújar and Cándido Bidó.


This exhibit, which is being coordinated and curated by José Amable Baret, allows visitors of the Fair to enjoy the art of yesterday and of today, in a symbiosis of talent that will make history within the northern region of the country.
