Spanish Cultural Center Reaches Duarte, Sánchez & Mella Streets through Jaime Guerra’s Photo Project

As part of Photoimagen 2012, Dominicanartist Jaime Guerra’s exhibition is showing the world about daily life on Duarte, Sánchez andMella Streets in Santo Domingo by photographing a series of details that shed light on what rules the behavior of the people who use these streets everyday or who work in this city.

Jaime Guerra is a permanent resident of this city. As a photographer he is concerned with urban issues. His camera is always at the ready for what ever face, dream, effort or situation that might occur before his lens on any given Dominican day.

Duarte, Sánchez and Mella are three heroes who represent part of Dominican history. Three important streets in Santo Domingo have been named after them.  Jaime Guerra has placed his camera lens right on these streets to document what comes and goes on a daily basis in this busy part of the capital city.

The Cultural Center of Spain, in PratsVentos Hall, is hosting over 100 photos of Jaime Guerra who allows human reality, without any discrimination, to tell us the stories captured by reality, the distant as well as close ones.
