All the institutions in the province of Espaillat ASOPRODEGAH, participated in a meeting about the problems that are affecting this city and are asking authorities to help resolve them.


Dr. Nieves Hidalgo, president of ASOPRODEGAH,asked various authorities to come up with a plan to resolve the situation within 6 months to a year.

In this activity, the results of which were clear, it was decided to promote the Arroyo Grande beach and areas around it as a tourist destination in addition to resolving key problems for the development of the community. They also asked the Tourism Ministry to hand out the promised funds to promote ecotourism tourism and the continuation of the highway here.


As such, the Ministry promised the naming of a new fiscal assistant to resolve cases in which the current official has no legal competence.


Mayors of the province represented by Mateo Arias, continued the finalization work and reinforcing the bridge over the Jobo River and the JoboOjo de Agua highway. They will contribute to the fuel costs and equipment to continue the road that will reach Arrollo Grande, one of the most important eco-tourism spots in the province, “EL SALTADERO DE ARROLLO GRANDE”.


Senator José Rafael Vargas explained that the Jobo Bridge is already a reality in its final stages. In addition, he explained that the hydroelectric system being built in Arroyo Grande is 50% finished. When it is totally completed it will provide inexpensive and renewable electric energy to more than 80 homes in Arroyo Grande and more than 150 in nearby zones.


Governor DiloneOvalles will channel the finances for the repair of the steps of the Arroyo Grande jointly with businessman, Aniano Rivas. He will help channel the contributions from the central government.


Deputy OlfalidaAlmonte promised to get a small project loan for peasants and producers through FEDA. Almonte also committed to building a childcare center for mothers who wish to pursue jobs and leave their children in a safe place.


Deputy of Ultramar, Levis Suriel Gomes, agreed to promote and direct the other construction needed by the community along with institutions and authorities.


Tony Rojas, an Environment Ministry official, promised to name a forest guardian in the area of Ojo de Agua and to reestablish the Environment Office in Gaspar Hernández which stopped functioning two years ago when officials on duty were unable to respond to a series of illegal tree-cutting incidents along the Joba River.


Business people in the area’s dairy industry are satisfied with the work being done by the Senator in Jobo, Ojo de Agua andArrollo Grande.
