The campaign will open with 332 selling offices to renew the registration tags, plus the unlimited 24-hour 7 days a week service that is being provided through the Internet.


During the 2012 process, the registration tag renewal campaign will be carried out under the slogan “Manage time to work in you favor,” using the innovative and fun Tic Toc character. This campaign seeks to make an appeal to the social sectors where the culture of leaving everything to the last minute and to not renew on time still persists.


The General Directorate of the Internal Revenue (DGII for its acronym in Spanish) has declared open the process of the 2012 tag renewal taxfor motorvehicle circulation. For three months, starting on Wednesday, August 29 and until November 30, there will be 332 sales offices available to all vehicle owners to renew their tags on time, plus they have theunlimited option of renewing through the web page www.dgii.gov.dowith 24-hour service, seven days a week.


Upon presentation of a copy of the vehicle registration, taxpayers may also purchase the new tagat the Savings and Loan Associations La Nacional, Popular, Cibao, La Vega Real, Duarte;the Associations of Savings and Loan of Mocana,Bonao, Maguana, Romana, Peravia;theLas Americas Bank, the Adopem Bank, Vimenca,the ADEMI Savings and Credit, the BDI Bank, the Vega y Real Cooperative,and the Global Cooperative ofLoma de Cabrera. In addition, the Internal Revenue collection offices in Jimaní, Villa Vasquez, Pedernales and Sanchez, as well as the Local Government ofSamaná, will also be available.


The details of the beginning of the process of the 2012 tag renewal taxfor motor vehicle circulation were offered during a press conference that took place on Tuesday at the DGII headquarters, and it was led by GuarocuyaFelix, Director General, Major General JoséAníbalSanzJiminián, Director of the Metropolitan Transit Authority (AMET for its acronym in Spanish) and Virginia Gómez, in charge of the Department of Motor Vehicles at the DGII.

At the event, Guarocuya Felix informed that this year’sprice rangereflects asegmentation that will benefit the owners of 2007 cars, since vehicles that were manufactured up to that year will pay RD$1,200.00 andthat 2008 andlater models will pay RD$2,200.00.

On the other hand, he stressed that the Internal Revenue Service continues to offer the convenience to renew in minutes, from the comfort of your home or office,using the Internet option. Through the www.dgii.gov.do web page, users may enter the option Marbete (tag) 2012, they must provide the license plate number and the number of the credit card, and the owner will receive the document at the address s/hehas indicated.


He warned that after the end of the campaign on November 30, 2012, taxpayers may only renew at the DGII offices, with a surcharge for late renewals of RD$600 per every year they did not renew,plus tax.
