Ministry of Culture donates 750 books to two institutions The Ministry of Culture (MINC), through the General Directorate of Books and Reading, presented abook donation to the library of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Colombia and to the library of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Colombia received five hundred (500) copies of books and the library of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received two hundred and fifty (250) literary works. The donations were presented personally by Mrs. Eleanor Grimaldi Silié, Director General of the Book and Reading program. They wereaccepted by Kenia Liranzo Núñez, Minister Counselor for Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Colombia, and by Manuel Emilio Martinez, Library Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Colombia received five hundred (500) copies of books and the library of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received two hundred and fifty (250) literary works. The books that were donated to both institutions contain works published by Ediciones Ferilibro, Editora National and Ediciones de Cultura. These books have been written by national and foreign authors. Thebook donations are part of a project that has been developed by the MINC, as part of its strategies for the promotion of national literature and to encourage reading. The initiative not only benefits the receiving institutions, but MINC is also donating books to all interested stakeholders through the “Start your own library” program. |
