The urban music bandEl Batallónmade its big debut and wontwo awards at the Dominican gala awards ceremony of music and art, and it immediatelystarted preparing for itstour throughoutEurope.

The members of El Batallónstartedtheir young artistic careerson the right foot,by winning in the categories “Newcomer of theYear”and “Cassandra of the People,”at the 2012 Casandra Awards, which took place last Tuesday.

The group, composed by T.Y.S, Big K,Caja Blanca, Alex B and Big O,along with the rest of their team, received their awards with an overwhelming joy, in the Carlos Piantini room at the Eduardo BritoNational Theatre, when they heard that they had beenselected towin theawardby the Association ofArtChroniclers (Acroarte for its acronym in Spanish) and the massive number votesfrom the public sentvia Internet.

The interpretersofthe hits “Te pué cuidá”, “Que lindo es el Amor” and “Haciendo Bembita” agreed on the idea thatthese awardswill servethem as motivationto directtheir efforts towardsthe internationalization of theirmusic,so thatit isspread all over theworld with itship-hopand electro Reggaetonbeats.

After receiving their awards, the nowfamousmusicians of El Batallóntook advantage of the occasion toannounce tothe mediathat in the followingdays they will beleaving ona tour thatwill take them throughdifferentcountries in Europefor approximately two months, thanks to the sponsorship ofBombón Productions and Alofoke Music.

Apart fromtheir twotrophies,the band, comprised of five young artists,received a thunderous applause andpositive commentsfrom the public, forits outstanding participation atthe opening of the CasandraAwards, along with AlexMatos (Salsa)andDonMiguelo (Reggaeton.).
