The Catholic Book Fair will be opening its XXIII edition under the slogan, “One Who Reads Little, Knows Little.” The Fair will run from Saturday March 17th to Sunday March 25th at the Casa San Pablo.


The Book Fair, whose objective is to promote and strengthen reading, mainly among children and young people, is expecting to have around 30 exhibitors this years.


The inaugural event, scheduled for Saturday, March 17th at 7:00 pm, will be presided over by his Eminence, the Most Reverend Nicolás de Jesús López Rodríguez, who will give the opening words. He will be followed by a concert by the Alfareros Christian musical group.


The Book Fair, whose objective is to promote and strengthen reading, mainly among children and young people, is expecting to have around 30 exhibitors this year.


Throughout the nine days of the Fair, visitors will have a chance to attend talks, afternoon choir recitals, musicals and various family-oriented activities and other wholesome entertainment.


There will be three book launches, one of them from the Archbishop of Santiago, Monsignor Ramón Benito de la Rosa y Carpio. There will also be international speakers giving conferences, including Salvador Gómez and Jesuit Priest Gregorio Mateu, who will be bringing messages of hope to the Christian community.


Visitors to the Book Fair will have a chance to leaf through and buy good books inspired by Christian formation, education and values for their spiritual growth and to enjoy the nourishing pleasure of reading.


Other activities planned include: book discussions, Eucharist, concerts, children’s activities, karaoke as well as the exhibition and sale of books.


For the closing ceremony, scheduled for Sunday March 25th, Christian music singer, Ambiorix Padilla will give a concert open to the public.


The Catholic Book Fair is free and open to the public. All cultural activities begin at 9:30 AM.
