The Ministry of Culture (MINC) officially launched the third phase of the “Sembrando Teatro”program during a brief ceremony held at the Ramon OviedoArt Gallery, at the Ministry’s headquarters.


During the ceremony, Ovalle read the list of provinces that have been assigned to each of the teachers and offered additional information on the persons responsible for culture in each place, for the purpose of facilitating the work assignments.


The Deputy Minister of Popular Participation and Creativity, Bernarda Jorge, led the event together with Basil Nova, director of the Narciso GonzalezCultural Center, and Elizabeth Ovalle, director of the event.The event also was attended by the teachers who participate in the project.


Elizabeth Ovalle welcomed the attendees and immediately explained the goals and the scope of the program,which will start on the 18thand will last three months.The programseeks to provide young students the creative elements, the ethical and moral values, and the artistic tools they need, as well as to raise their awareness within the theatrical concepts.


During the ceremony, Ovalle read the list of provinces that have been assigned to each of the teachers and offered additional information on the persons responsible for culture in each place, for the purpose of facilitating the work assignments.


15 of the country’s provinces will participate: Barahona, Dajabón, Independencia, Samaná, Higuey, Hato Mayor, El Seybo, Salcedo, San Cristóbal, La Romana, Moca, La Vega, Monte Plata, Bonao and Baní. A total of 832 students from these cities will participate in the training and close to a million dollars will be invested in setting up the program.


She reported that there is a team of teachers who are highly qualified and with proven responsibility who will work eleven hours a week each on the program.


In her intervention during the ceremony Mrs. Bernarda Jorge urged the teachers to fully comply with their role by properly instructing the students, in order to produce the expected outcomes.
