UNIBE Graduates 552 New Professionals

The Iberoamericana University (UNIBE in Spanish) gave the country 552 newly graduated professionals with expertise in various areas at its XXXI graduation ceremony. This is the first graduating class from the Leaders of Tomorrow scholarship program and those who entered university under a new educational model.


The young people at this graduating class are from, in addition to the Dominican Republic, Pakistan, United Sates, Venezuela, France, Argentina, Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Colombia, Haiti, Spain and Canada, among other nations.


The graduation ceremony, held in the Terminal of Sans Soucí, was led by UNIBE Rector, Dr. Julio Amado Castaños Guzmán and other university authorities.


With this new group of professionals, UNIBE has now graduated more than 11,000 undergraduates and post-graduates, many of whom have started their own businesses or have been hired by prestigious companies and national and international industries.


 The young people at this graduating class are from, in addition to the Dominican Republic, Pakistan, United Sates, Venezuela, France, Argentina, Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Colombia, Haiti, Spain and Canada, among other nations.


The professionals will receive their diplomas from the directors of the various departments such as Medicine, Law, Architecture, Business Administration, Advertising Communication, Interior Design, Marketing, Civil and Industrial Engineering, Dentistry, Early Education, Business Administration, Hotels and Tourism, Science of Religion, Clinical, Academic and Industrial Psychology.


There were also graduates in the specialty areas of Intervention in Psychotherapy, Masters Degrees in Psycho-Pedagogic Intervention, Post-Grad Teaching, specialties in Oral Rehabilitation and Periodontics and Dental Implants, Masters in Integral Communication of Marketing, Masters in Business Administration and Constitutional Law.


In his speech, the Rector of this prestigious university said, “Universities have the obligation to be entities that promote the formation of better citizens, the formation of better ethical values and to educate by following the laws of our own constitution. Academies must encourage respect for the environment, ethical and honorable activities.”


He emphasized that “educating is not just transferring knowledge then later handing out university degrees.  Education is to awaken consciousness and promote good practices. Learning to reclaim our rights as citizens and to demand honest performance and respect of those who govern us and of those who will govern us.”
Special recognition for receiving a perfect 4.0 average was bestowed upon Laura Amelia Núñez Fernández who graduated Suma Cum Laude with a degree in Early Education.


Other outstanding students who were recognized include: Anna Isabel Caminero Javier, Karla Madeline Mueses Urquia, Johanny Adanexcy Guerrero Soler, Jean Carlos Villanueva Feria, Paola Alfonsina Romero Arnó, Carmen Amelia Ariza Prota, Laura Illeana Pérez Soriano, Karina González Morales, María Paola Hernández Ferrer, Miguel Ángel Soto Correa, Sara Inés Taveras Alam and Perla Massiel Aguiló Álvarez.
