The Academy for Higher Aeronautic Sciences (ASCA), which is part of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC), received certification as a TRAINAIR PLUS center, from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), becoming the first aeronautical training center in all of America to obtain this certification.

Alejandro Herrera, Secretary of State and general director of IDAC, personally received the certification and said that such recognition is a stimulus and a commitment to continue the development of aeronautic science in the Dominican Republic.


Director of Aerial Navigation of the ICAO, Nancy Graham, handed over the accreditation plaque and emphasized the importance of training human resources to assure the growth of the global system of aerial transport.


Graham stressed the need to train qualified personnel and emphasized the benefits of the TRAINER PLUS program for achieving a world-class educational program.


With this certification, the Dominican Republic, with ASCA, is becoming an educational destination for training human resources for all aviation systems on the American continent. The Dominican Republic was congratulated by all participating delegations accredited with the ICAO.

The general director of IDAC, Alejandro Herrera, receives the Trainair Plus certificate for ASCA from Nancy Graham, director of Aerial Navigation of the ICAO. They are accompanied by Alfredo Paredes, director of ASCA, and the Permanent Ambassador to the Dominican Republic for the ICAO, Carlos Veras.
