The poetry recital was done by the poets Arlín Abreu, Carlos Reyes, Edwin Solano and Daniela Cruz, all from the Northern Region. The young writers delighted the audience with their poems and shared experiences as young writers.

They recited twenty- four poems and talked about the differences between the narrative and poetry, their favorite writers, their early experience with literature, what it is that makes a poem worth reading and literary life in the Northern Region.

On the latter topic, Daniela Cruz said “living in the northern area does limit people in their writing, perhaps from being exposed to fame and notoriety, but it does not stop one from writing. There are many people producing high quality writing as we speak.”

Finally, Carlos Reyes thanked the Ministry of Culture and its Ángeles de Fierro Publishing House for helping writers in the Northern Region to get their work published and for inviting them to participate in this Youth Space at the Book Fair.
