Dominican President, Leonel Fernández, also called on representatives of multilateral organizations such as the United Nations (UN), the World Bank, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and other regional cooperation entities.

The central theme of the discussion at the meeting will be how international cooperation to Haiti after last Tuesday’s devastating earthquake can be turned into a short and long-term project, the general outlines of which have been discussed by Presidents Fernández and Preval and Haiti’s Prime Minister, Jean-Max Bellerive.
