The Mesa Fine Art Gallery presents the work of a new generation of Caribbean West Indian artists (Cuban, Haitian, Puerto Rican and Dominican) who will participate in a painting exhibition.


The exhibition hopes to be the beginning of a Caribbean presence in Santo Domingo and is being called The Color of the Caribbean West Indian.


The exhibition hopes to be the beginning of a Caribbean presence in Santo Domingo and is being called The Color of the Caribbean West Indian. Danilo De Los Santos, historian and art critic, has written an essay on the topic that will be published, along with the artists’ work and their profiles, in a documentary catalogue being put together by the Caribbean Arts Research Center at the beginning of 2010.

The artists participating in the exhibition include Isamel Abreu, Janet Hevia and Luis Salazar from Cuba, Andy Saint-Rome Labossiere from Haiti, Marcos Alegría and Bárbara Díaz from Puerto Rico and Rafael Alba, Herminio Alberti León, Enrique Cerda, Leticia Ceballos, Jorge Checo, María Josefina García, Mirna Ledesma, Evelyn Lima, Omar Molina, Minelys Ramírez, Ocre Reyes, Manuel (Kutty) Reyes, Cristóbal Rodríguez, Ginny Taulé, Edward Tellería and Alberto Ulloa from the Dominican Republic.

The Mesa Fine Art Gallery is located on Roberto Pastoriza Avenue, No. 356 in Pintini.
