The Office of the First Lady’s Stand at the Book Fair The Office of the First Lady of the Republic has mounted a replica of the Dominican Children’s and Young People’s Library at the XII International Book Fair of Santo Domingo 2009 The more than twenty people who worked on the pavilion will use a variety of technology and concepts to stimulate visitors and instill a passion for reading. The object of replicating of the library is to attract people, especially children and teens, to visit the stand and to take an interest in the books in a fun way so that when they return home they continue to be motivated and develop a love for reading. The more than twenty people who worked on the pavilion will use a variety of technology and concepts to stimulate visitors and instill a passion for reading. The inside of the pavilion in made up of five halls just like the original library. One area is called Imagine!, a space exclusively for very small children who will learn through play with such games as: Count with Me, Music and Lyrics, Let’s Paint Verses, Telling Stories to Be Happy and Vocabulary and Dictionary. In E_I Learn, adolescents will have access to the Internet and will learn to use the intelligent blackboard. In addition, they will find a specially-prepared place in My Space for young people who like to read. There is a selection of important literary works, science books, biographies, curiosities, history, general culture and many more books that suit all tastes. In the Readers Court, visitors can play and learn with: “best readings,” trivial pursuit, letter games, parades, crossword puzzles and rallies. In the Theater of the Letters, they will find: leer@movi, ideagrams, reading out loud, meetings, cinemas and Doña Tertulia.
