UNPHU Signs Agreement with Genealogy and Heraldry Academy

The Pedro Henríquez Ureña National University (UNPHU) and the Dominican Genealogy and Heraldry Academy (ACADOMGENHER) recently signed a cooperation agreement to embark on an academic exchange program.

The UNPHU and ACADOMGENHER are seeking an academic and professional relationship with the idea of establishing contacts with genealogists, researchers and historians in this field.

The agreement was signed by UNPHU Rector Miguel Fiallo Calderón and ACADOMGENHER’s Luis José Américo Prieto Nouel in the former’s office.

Representatives of ACADOMGENHER said they had decided to sign the agreement with the UNPHU in that it is a renowned educational institute which educates professionals in different areas and maintains excellent international standards.

The UNPHU and ACADOMGENHER are seeking an academic and professional relationship with the idea of establishing contacts with genealogists, researchers and historians in this field. In addition, they intend to provide adequate training to amateurs as well as professionals in this research area, which is not very widespread.

Both institutions will design and carry out specialized learning programs in genealogy research for students, researchers, genealogists and historians, non-profit associations and the general public. In addition they will offer post-graduate, undergraduate and open courses.

The ACADOMGENHER is a non-profit, cultural organization created by a group of intellectuals related to Genealogy, Heraldry and Nobility as areas of historical study. Their goal is to offer research solutions to Dominican families who can then search their own family histories. They can also develop the necessary skills to compete in national and international research projects that are based on the satisfaction of the search itself.

The UNPHU, as part of its modernization project, makes these types of agreements with the idea of promoting research and offering facilities and options to the student body while continuing to provide excellent academic training in different areas. In addition, the UNPHU has the necessary infrastructure to participate in interchange with national as well as international institutions.
