Marcos Díaz continues to demonstrate his skills

The Dominican swimmer Marcos Diaz continues to demonstrate his skills in this open water sport. This time Diaz obtained his first victory in 2006 winning against 30 other swimmers in the 30th Annual Swim around Key West Contest in a 20 km. route around Cayo Hueso.
Díaz finished his swim under adverse conditions such as rain and 15 knot winds in 3 hours and 54 minutes. He received the first absolute place and surpassed his own coaches’ expectations who were estimating a total time of 4 hours and 40 minutes.

The outstanding Dominican swimmer was recently decorated by the official director of the Dominican community in Paterson, New Jersey where he became a “Honorary member of the Dominican people in New Jersey”.  

Díaz stands out around the world in swimming: he set a world record crossing back and forth the Strait of Gibraltar. He is an example to follow as a sportsman and as a dedicated young man.
